DMEM is a good choice for growing the primary cell culture of mouse and chicken cells. Moreover, this media can be used properly for a variety of normal and transformed cells. Each of these DMEM formulations, by comparison, offers a different combination of L-glutamine and sodium pyruvate. More importantly, DMEM has several fold more buffering capacities (3.7g\/L NaHCO3).\r\n\r\nFurthermore, DMEM contains no proteins, lipids, or growth factors.
