Background

Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle’s Medium/F-12 (DMEM F-12) provides superior quality, consistency, and great control in mammalian cell culture. DMEM F-12 is preferred for MDCK, glial cells, fibroblasts, human endothelial cells, as well as rat fibroblasts. In general, DMEM: F-12 is more enriched but contains the following major changes compared to DMEM:

  • 0.5 mM sodium pyruvate
  • Moreover, contains 30mM NaHCO3 (2.438g/L)
