Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle’s Medium (DMEM)
Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle’s Medium (DMEM) is a modification of Basal Medium Eagle. Our DMEM, optimized to deliver exceptional growth and consistency, is available in Standard, MAX, and Advanced formulations.
Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle’s Medium (DMEM) contains fourfold more amino acids and vitamins compared to the original formulation. DMEM is a good choice for growing the primary cell culture of mouse and chicken cells. Moreover, this media can be used properly for a variety of normal and transformed cells. Each of these DMEM formulations, by comparison, offers a different combination of L-glutamine and sodium pyruvate. More importantly, DMEM has several fold more buffering capacities (3.7g/L NaHCO3).
Furthermore, DMEM contains no proteins, lipids, or growth factors. Therefore, it requires supplementation, commonly with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
