PurMabiologics Tissue Culture
PurMabiologics is the leading company in providing whole-mount retinal explants for a period of up to three months, as well as primary single retinal cells, including Müller cells, photoreceptor cells, ganglion cells, and astrocytes. Please see below for more details:
Organotypic Retinal Culture System:
Whole-mount retinal culture system is an excellent environment in which to test various aspects of exogenous substances, such as drugs and neurotropic factors. We have been able to successfully keep retinas alive for 3 months. This methodology was originally developed by our laboratory. One of the most important advantages of this model over in vivo conditions is the rate of injectable delivered to photoreceptor cells. Most in vivo protein delivery experiments result in affecting the cells around the area of injection, and delivery does not spread across the retina.
With our methodology, there is an equal chance for all of the cells in the retina and RPE to have access to the treated chemical compound. Our tissue culture expert team will help you with downstream applications, such as immunofluorescence, TUNEL cell staining, and in situ hybridization using microscopy with radioactive and non-radioactive probes. Biochemical analysis, such as western blot, immunoprecipitation, and cell fractionation, can also be performed. Consult our tissue culture team to design an experiment which addresses your particular needs. To get a reasonable quote, please contact us.
Single Cells Culture:
PurMabiologics offers primary single cell cultures of: photoreceptors, RPE, ganglion cells, Müller cells, and astrocytes. The length of culture depends on your experiment, and can be extended up to 60 days.
