MEM Alpha Modification (MEM-α) in Hanks’ Buffer is certainly a suitable choice for mammalian cell culture as well as selection for transfected DHFR-negative cells. This media can also be used with a variety of suspension and adherent cells including keratinocytes, primary rat astrocytes, and human melanoma cells.  Furthermore, eliminating calcium in this media facilitates the growth of cells in suspension cultures.

Ingredients

MEM -α has improved regular MEM as it contains:

  • Non-essential amino acids.
  • Sodium pyruvate.
  • Lipoic acid.
  • Vitamin B12.
  • Biotin and,

How should MEM Alpha Modification (MEM-α) in Hanks’ Buffer be stored?
