Penicillin/Streptomycin Antibiotic Mix (100X)
Penicillin/Streptomycin Antibiotic Mix (100X) prevents bacterial, mold & virus as well as yeast and to some extent mycoplasma . Moreover, most of the cell lines, unless they are maintained fully aseptic and come from an aseptic facility, need a mixture of antibiotics to prevent various above-mentioned contamination.
Description
Background
PurMa™ Penicillin/Streptomycin Antibiotic Mix (100X) contains all the necessary ingredients which successfully prevent common contaminants.
In mammalian cell culture, we always need to prevent contamination of four types of contaminants which most of the cell lines need to overcome : Bacterial contamination, mold & virus contamination, mycoplasma contamination, as well as yeast contamination. Commonly, most of the cell lines, unless they are maintained fully aseptic and come from an aseptic facility, need a mixture of antibiotics to prevent above-mentioned contaminants. PurMaTM Penicillin/ Streptomycin Mix contains
Ingredients
| Streptomycin | 10 mg/mL |
| Penicillin | 10000 UI/mL |
Features and benefits:
- Cost effective!
- Effectively removes both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
- Moreover, it contains antibiotics and antimycotics to prevent yeast and mycoplasma partially. PurMa Biologics, however, manufactures PurMa™ Mycoplasma Treatment Kit (MTK) (100X) (Cat:P5M010408) which successfully eliminates mycoplasma from cell culture without harming most of the cell lines.
- Does not harm a healthy cell line if it is used in the recommended concentration.
- Finally, we highly recommend performing a dose-response test at the beginning to decide the level in which the contamination is prevented and, importantly, the cultured cells and tissues are in their high-performance
