Description

Background

PurMa Biologics manufactures seven types of horse serum, three of which, including PurMaTM Endotoxin-Depleted Fetal Horse Serum (ED-FHS) are considered as premium fetal Horse serums, each specialized for certain requirements in tissue culture:

  1. PurMa™ Premium Fetal Horse Serum (P-FHS).
  2. PurMa™ Ultra-Premium Fetal Horse Serum (UP-FHS).
  3. PurMa™ Endotoxin-Depleted Fetal Horse Serum (ED-FHS).

Additionally, PurMa™ Endotoxin-Depleted Fetal Horse Serum (ED-FHS) is processed from PurMa™ Premium Fetal Horse Serum (P-FHS).  It, therefore, provides an excellent opportunity to compare the two serums from an endotoxin perspective.

Endotoxin Removal

Purma Biologics removes the endotoxin from FHS  by passing the premium FHS through the PurMaEndotoxin Elimination Column (Cat# P6H1216251). The Sepharose 6B in our proprietary column is covalently conjugated to an endotoxin-specific absorbent. The mentioned procedure follows by eliminating the residual endotoxin by passing the unbound fraction three times through 0.1µm filters.

  • Firstly, PurMa™ Endotoxin-Depleted Fetal Horse Serum (ED-FHS) is of USA origin.
  • Also, it is free of endotoxin.

  • Has been heat inactivated.
