Mammalian Cryoprotective Media (MCM-D) with DMSO

Mammalian Cryoprotective Media (MCM-D) with DMSO provides the best cryoprotection. Moreover, it provides an equilibrium that results in the lowest cell death with an excellent recovery rate (69%).

Description

Mammalian Cryoprotective Media (MCM-D)

Background

Mammalian Cryoprotective Media (MCM-D) with DMSO provides the best cryoprotection with proven 69% recovery rate (see below). Exposing cells to temperatures below 0°C without the aid of cryoprotectants typically cause cell death. During cryopreservation cooling aqueous solutions below the equilibrium freezing point inevitably result in the formation of ice crystals in the extracellular media and a decrease in the concentration of water which has two key consequences:

  1. Osmotic gradient forms across the cell membrane, which causes “cell dehydration”, and
  2. Ice formation and abnormal concentration of solutes in the intracellular matrix, osmatic shock, and toxicity.

More Importantly, we always manufacture  our cryoprotective media using our most sophisticated water , for more details, Click here:

PurMa™ Ultra-Pure Cell Culture Suited Water

PurMa Biologics is the leading company in manufacturing cryoprotective media. We follow two essential goals:

  1. Allowing cells to be stored at deep cryogenic temperatures with minimal cell damage and recovery with high levels of appropriate functionality and viability, and
  2. Allow minimal toxicity.  Undoubtedly, this is a challenge we have overcome in the past 3 decades.

Accordingly, we manufacture several DMSO -dependent and DMSO Free cryoprotective media. PurMaTM (MCM) contains DMSO.

PurMaTM Mammalian Cryoprotective Media (MCM) has an excellent performance for short-term cold storage as well as long-term cryopreservation. Please see the below figure

DMSO benefits cryoprotection and cryoprotective agent in several ways

  1. Provides strong molecular stability.
  2. Besides, facilitates a high non-conductor constant.
  3. It contains the basic properties, salts solubility particularly for anions. Additionally contains a propensity to act as the acceptor atom in hydrogen bonding.
  4. Especially,  DMSO makes a  hydrogen bond with water which is 30% stronger than between two water molecules.
  5. The proprietary formulation of PurMaTM Mammalian Cryoprotective Media (MCM) allows the MCM to get inside the cells instantly and lower cell death because of penetration/freezing.

Special Features

  • Ready-to-Use medium.
  • Each Lot of our Mammalian Cryoprotective Media (MCM-D) with DMSO goes through pathogens and sterility evaluations.
  • We evaluate each Lot for survival test (by Trypan Blue method), viability & performance evaluation (by MTT Test), as well as for the rate of recovery by Alamar Blue test.
  • PurMaTM MCM-D results in the lowest cell loss during freezing and thawing as well as the highest cell recovery. Moreover, it provides over 69% survival and recovery rate after long term cryopreservation.
  • Sterile (Passed through 0.2µm filters).
  • Moreover, PurMaTM MCM-D provides an exceptional  cryopreservation for primary and commercial cell lines
  • Suitable for clinical applications.
